Tribute to the fallen Hero: Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.~Jakom
By Amoi Silas Musera
A DAUGHTER’S FAREWELL

A tear falls, a heart aches, as I bid farewell
To the man who towered tall, my guiding light, my Dad
Baba Raila Odinga, a name that resonates deeply
To me, simply “Dad”, a figure of love and strength
In your final moments, I held you close
A pain I’ll forever bear, no selfies to hold
On board, you were carried as cargo, a weight I could not bear
No chance to capture smiles, just memories that linger there
Your hat, your signature charm, was all that stayed with me
My only company on that long journey, a symbol of you, a memory
I held it tight, feeling your presence near
A bittersweet reminder of the moments we shared, now tinged with tears
The king is has fallen, but long live the crown
Your legacy lives on, a kingdom of love and renown
You may be gone, but your impact remains
A leader, a statesman, a father, forever in our veins
You stood tall in the face of adversity
You fought for what you believed in, for justice and equality
You inspired a nation, a people, and a land
You left an indelible mark on the world
You were a leader, a statesman, a father, a hero
You were a guiding light, a shining star, a beacon of hope
You were a source of strength, a pillar of courage
You were the rock that held us together
I remember your wisdom, your conviction, your unwavering stance
I remember your love, your kindness, your generosity
I remember the sacrifices you made, the struggles you faced
I remember the legacy you left behind
Rest now, dear Baba, your work is done
We’ll carry on, the torch you’ve lit, the path you’ve paved
With pride, with honor, we’ll walk the path you’ve laid
Forever grateful, for the love you’ve shared, for being my Dad.
